Lamar Mechanical Specs
The following specifications can be used when creating a production file for the vast majority bulletins and retrofit poster panels in Lamar's inventory. The mechanical specifications for each are explained below.
Bulletin Specs
- Hold your design to the dimensions of the structure. The structure size represents the actual image area of the billboard.
- Bleed your background by 6” on all four sides. This makes the overall vinyl size 1’ larger than the image area in both height and width.
- The production facility should make 4” pockets on the back of the vinyl for installation. This does not change the overall size of the vinyl.

TriVision Specs
- Hold your design to the dimensions of the structure. The structure size represents the actual image area of the billboard.
- TriVision/RigiBlade panels require no bleed. Bulletin templates can be used for this product, the bleed just has to be removed by cropping to the Live Area.
- The individual blades will be cut to the specific panels required width in production.

Poster & Retro Specs
- Hold your design to 10’5” x 22’8”.
- Bleed your background by 3/4” on all four sides.
- Overall vinyl size (Final Size) can not be any larger than 10’-6.5" x 22’-9.5" or any smaller than 10’6 x 22’9. Any other size will not fit in the structure.
- The production facility should make 4” pockets on the back of the vinyl for installation. This does not change the Overall Size (Final Size) of the vinyl.

Material, Substrate, Ink & Warranties
Bulletins
Material/Substrate:
Recommended: Cooley CoolFlex Front lit vinyl
Preferred weight: 7 ounces or lighter
Minimum Warranty: 1 year against ink fade, ink peeling, and failure of material or pockets.
Note: 12 ounce material is not preferred, but will be accepted at this time.
Inks: Inks must be weatherproof/waterproof with sufficient UV protection, and in compliance with product bulletin, bulletin specifications or substrate manufacturer.
Posters
Material/Substrate- Vinyl:
Recommended: Cooley CoolFlex Front lit
Weight: min 7 oz./sqyd - max 12 oz./sqyd
Material/Substrate- Polyethylene Paper Replacement:
Recommended: InterWrap PosterFlex™
Weight: 2.9 oz./sqyd
Minimum Warranty: Warranty protects against ink fade ink adhesion, and failure of material or pockets.
Vinyl: 1 year
PE: 30 days
Production Resolution & Templates
Lamar Bulletins and TriVisions are set up at 1/2" = 1' scale @ 300ppi Document Resolution. This equates to about 12.5 pixels per linear inch on the final product.
Lamar Posters 1" = 1' scale @ 216ppi Document Resolution. This equates to 18 pixels per linear inch on the final product.
Banners can be set up at size @ 72ppi. Extra large banners (over 50sqft.), may be set up at size @ 36ppi to save on file size.
Common Poster Templates:
18ppi Actual Print Resolution. Templates are set up at 1" = 1' Scale @ 216ppi Document Resolution.
Live Area
w/ Bleed
Common Bulletin & TriVision Templates:
12.5ppi Actual Print Resolution. Templates are set up at 1/2" = 1' Scale @ 300ppi Document Resolution.
*Just crop to the live area and remove the bleed for TriVision designs.

Compatible Software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign.
Acceptable Formats: Native formats from the software listed above or Adobe PDF, TIFF, or EPS. *Fonts embedded where applicable.
