As most of you know, LG has experienced several changes over the last few months. We are transitioning to new printing technology, offering new substrates, and have switched to Federal Express as our shipping carrier to mention a few. I appreciated the support and understanding you have offered so far and ask for your continued support through this transition.
The new printing machines we are now running operate at 4 times the speed of our old ones. Baton Rouge is completely transitioned to the new machines and Columbus will be switched over by mid-June. At the end of the transition, Lamar Graphics will have a total 6 Revolution printers, 4 in Baton Rouge and 2 in Columbus. These 6 machines will more than double our previous capacity.
Those plants who historically have received production from the LG west facility will begin receiving production from Baton Rouge or Columbus depending on which location provides the fastest ground time in transit by Federal Express. Attached is a spreadsheet indicating each plant’s LG default printing facility as well as the ground time in transit from that location. Please take a moment to review the spreadsheet even if you are not affected by the LG West closure because the ground time in transit has changed for some plants with the switch to Federal Express. I have also attached the new shipping rate card for Flex vinyl and Posterflex. We are still working on the new rates for self adhesive and rigid.
