How To: Creating a Production Worthy PDF from Quark
Maybe some users are still not used to the one-click (yes, it's
really that easy) PDF Filter, or maybe they are unaware that they need to set up their
PostScript printer before they begin. We get a lot of questions, though, and it's
time for a little how-to.

This is a step by step, illustrated guide on Exporting a Quark document as a
Production Ready PDF. The following settings will greatly minimize the possibiltiy
of errors and delays with your order. Click the heading above to expand the guide.
1. File > Export > Layout to PDF. Click the Options button.
2-1. Click on the Compression tab to the left and make sure Compression is
set to None in Color and Grayscale Images.
2-2. Select the Color Tab from the list on the left. Set the Color Options
Setup to Composite CMYK.
2-3. In the OPI Tab make sure the OPI Active option is checked.
3-1. Set the Preferences for the PDF option.
