How To: Submitting Art Check List

Here's a list of the three most important aspects of setting up production ready files when ordering from Lamar Graphics. Following these general guidelines can significantly reduce the likelihood of problems occuring with your order. Not to mention files that are sent in production ready take less time to process and in turn allow for faster turnaround times.

Color Profile

First and foremost, check the color space of your file. We highly recommend using our custom color profile (LamarFujiPictro.icm) and Color Palettes for any product being produced at Lamar Graphics. If you do not choose to use our color profile, we strongly recommend you embed what ever profile used in the file. This will improve the accuracy of the color conversion to our color space while the file is being processed for production.

Bleed

There is a standard 6" inch bleed on most vinyl bulletins. Be sure to include the recommended bleed for the product being ordered. The proper amount of bleed is built into every Lamar Graphics Template. If you are unsure how much bleed is required for you product check the Bleed page on this site. Feel free to Contact Us if you are still unsure how much bleed is required for your product .

File Format

The Lamar Graphics workflow is based around Photoshop. The five File Formats we accept have been proven to be the most reliable in our current work flow. No matter what program is used, your file will be converted to a Photoshop document for processing here at Lamar Graphics. To insure the best file conversion, please submit your art in .PSD, .PDF, .EPS, .TIF, .JPG. Refer to the How To section of the site for information on the best way to convert Quark and InDesign files to PDF format.
