Color Management

The Lamar Graphics workflow is based on a custom profile tailored to match our equipment. We use a wide Gamut CMYK profile based on our Fuji Pictro Proofer. This provides very accurate proofs and allows us to convert that base artwork to our various printers and products with the best possible results in color gamut and color consistency.

This is a device profile. It is one of the most important components for accurate color management. Profiles are the building blocks of Color Management. They provide a reference for devices used in your workflow. By creating these reference profiles, you are able to adjust color throughout your workflow based on the unique characteristics of these devices.

IMPORTANT: Proper Color Management Procedure

* If starting from a blank Lamar Template, ASSIGN (Edit / Assign Profile in Photoshop) LamarFujiPictro.icm color profile before you start designing.
* If modifying exsisting art CONVERT (Edit / Convert to Profile in Photoshop) to LamarFujiPictro.icm. Adjust the color and art as needed.

Installing Color Profiles

PC - Download the profile above and save it to your computer. Right click on that file (LamarFujiPictro.icm) and choose "Install Profile". That copies the file to your system color folder and will be ready for use by your graphics software.

To load the profile manually, copy the file to the following location:
98, 2000, XP - C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
NT - c:\winNT\system32\color
WinNT 2000 - c:\winNT2000\system32\spool\drivers\color

MAC - Download the profile above and save/copy it to the following folder:
OS9: System Folder\ColorSync Profiles
OS10 & up: Root HD \Library\ColorSync\Profiles
